This course dives into how the body responds and adapts to a training stimulus. Conor starts by going into the biological systems that are involved in maintaining homeostasis before covering the different models of adaptation. An overview and the importance of progressive overload are introduced before exploring advanced training methods.

As a result of the course, learners should get an understanding of the fundamentals of stress, adaptation and training principles. Recognising that stress is a necessary element in gaining adaptations that support physical performance improvements. That stress and training should be specific to the outcome required and appreciate the nuance of taking a holistic approach to exercise prescription and adaptation.
